+ Issue Affecting Players on Itchio

Hi! I wanted to share some things I learned recently via my time on the Itchio forums. Itchio seems to have a habit of duct taping an issue and ignoring issues negatively affected. I feel like there's more I don't know about now so I want to catalogue them when I find them here.

Users likely know there is a bot spam issue on Itchio. There's no captcha or anything, but there ARE  a bunch of users who are instantly marked as spam accounts and unable to comment

• Here is one thread describing frustration

• Another where I learned No Time to Play actually is just a volunteer / notable community member. I did not know this. No Time to Play helps out of kindness, but it explains why Staff has a tendency to also ignore things elevated by No Time to Play

I wanted to make note of this because while this zine talks about censorship, I also really wanted to highlight some of the decisions of staff that aren't visible to the average user.

I've seen users complain abotu this but actually didn't really understand the issue til I read these two threads. Considering it seems like Itchio staff is ignoring a lot of the deindexed games because the spam is likely a higher priority, I felt it was noteworthy.

Bye bye!
